It makes strange noises and doesn't have a whole lot of power. The truck is a 2 tonner with the sm420 trans. I'd like to keep the stock transmission in it. I use the truck a bit around the place and figured it might be time for a replacement motor so I looked around for other sixes. Unlike Ford 300 straight sixes GM 250/292s don't grow on trees around here. V8s are much easier to come by. I figured a 305 oughta really liven things up  Anyone have any advice? | | |
