I recently bought a 1960 235 truck engine to replace my 56. I did a little research at:
http://secondchancegarage.com/public/department35.cfm Suggestion: select "Chevy engines", click on the year you are checking out, and then scroll WAY down on that page for the specs.
This is a helpful site that gives all the vital engine specs and subtle differences between the various Chevy 6 cylinder engines. It gives specific info on the correct distributor/valve/cam timing which was of special interest.
You'll also need to check into the waterpump adaptor plate/early waterpump, that will allow you to mount your radiator in the proper position on the core support. I hope this helps.
