Bobzhog,I agree with all here,fuel problem.I had a Chev van for 28 yrs.Every year, what you discribe would happen.The filter in the Q-jet would plug up.Idled fine and speeds to 40mph then it would stall.Steep hills caused problems too.The fuel pump just can't get enough fuel to the carbs.Take the filter out and try it.
