Installed casting number correct re-surfaced rockers yesterday. The previous arms were incorrect of the '37-'39 version of the 216ci. There were four sets of these which may be correct for a post '40 engine. The casting numbers don't match any shown in the master parts catalog '29-'50 edition. They had been installed in their "correct" positions, afterall.
But, now the arms sit higher and the valves cannot be adjusted. Now I wonder if the push rods and/or the valve lifters are also incorrect.
I understand the correct push rods should be 12 and 47/64 inches long.
What should the correct measurements be for the lifters?
Any ideas?
