I have both the book and CD. I never use the CD. I might if I had a computer in my shop and it stayed booted up all the time. It's just quicker for me to get to the book and get answers. Also if you're working in a confined place/position and need to read directions, it would be hard to have your computer in there with you.
Remember there are three different instruction manuals/CD, a shop manual with mostly words and few helpful pictures, a CD of the shop manual and the factory assembly manual. I would chose the assembly manual as it is the one I use most all the time.
