For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 147 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 147 | My son just purchased a 47 International with a Chev 6 engine and I need to identify it before we can make plans on whether to keep it or not. The engine is unusual to me because it has a narrower valve cover than normal, and the intake manifold is cast as an integral part of the head. The casting number of the head is 356796, it has a high energy distributor, and the late model bell housing bolt pattern. I have been looking all over the internet trying to figure out how to identify the engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob
