Everything on your 283 will fit but I like to use an alum. intake & 4 barrel carb. That model has plenty of clearance for a HEI or you can get a elect. ign changeover. If you want to keep it original you can use your parts & paint it Chev. orange. As mentioned before I like the large damper. It comes with 2 timeing tabs for either size.
