Went to move my truck today, and the clutch would not release. I tried to adjust it, but there was no more positive adjustment left. I ended up starting it in reverse (not reccomended) and then started it in 2nd to move it across the street. To stop I simply killed the ignition. The clutch finally freed up and the truck could be driven {normally}.
What happened? The throw out bearing travels almost 3/4 of an inch before it contacts the the pressure plate fingers. Could the clutch disc have rusted to the flywheel?
I don't want to spend any money right now to fix the clutch as I am getting ready to do the engine, transmission, and rear end conversion, but I would like to keep the truck driveable till I collect all the parts I will need.
Any insight or suggestions?
