I usually use a Ford cable and pedal but other pedals could be mated with it. Reasons are it's cheap--$5 at a pick a part, it uses a round hole in the firewall instead of a square one like GM (much easier to make), and best of all it has the return spring built into the cable so there's no brackets to make or exposed spring(s).
