On a flatbed that would look good, IMHO.

To look right you would want to go with 3" or larger pipes, IMHO.

I thought about doing this on my short stepside, but thought it would look like a Dodge Lil Red Express knock-off and I was worried about some little kid burning his hands on the pipes.

If you use large diameter stacks you will need a good muffler or else it will be very obnoxious. Those large stacks are amplifiers.
