The 4-speed should swap in OK. The major "change" would be the 4-speed weighing twice as much. So, the 4-speed is not so easily lifted as is the 3-speed - I needed to use a jack for the 4-speed. I made this swap last Spring in my 1954 1/2 ton with enclosed driveshaft.
