Guys,
I know that up to a certain point of cam lift and duration you can run the stock exhaust manifold on the Chevy 6 (or any engine). But approximately when do you run into problems with cam/lobe overlap?
I have a very mild cam in my 292 (194I/204E duration at .050 and approx .464 valve lift on intake, .490 on exhaust). I currently have tube headers (won't make that mistake again) but recently ran into a great deal on an NOS 292 factory exhaust manifold. This will work great as the Offy 4 barrel intake was cast to work with the stock exhaust.
Should I be okay here, or go with Stovebolt's split cast iron exhaust?
