Definetly a good way top save some$$$.Only thing I would have against buying an old compressor is,if it breaks down,can you buy parts for it today.Or what would the cost of a professional rebuild set you back.That is if that breakdown occurred.I have an old Champion,that was in my shop when bought this house.It worked good for a few years,then uh oh,it is now leaking off. Tried to locate parts for it,but to no avail. Someone [posted on here about an outfit in IL.that had parts.When I contacted them,and gave them the specs.on my compressor they replied that it was too old and they no longer carried parts for the compressor.My local Tractor Supply had a sale on Ingersol Rands,so I took the easy way out and purchased a new one,which works very well.
