Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | I have seen the Dupont color chart Tim, that’s the same DUP paint number that you used on your big chart. The Pearl Beige code is not a good number any more and there is no cross-reference for it on the paint dealer’s databases.
Refresh my memory, where are you finding the Engineering Features?? And no I haven’t seen that page. Thanks
Joe we can always use those phone numbers so yes, please do post it here for anyone doing paint research. Thanks
Yeah Bear, all of the vendors sell what they believe are the “correct” colors but I have literally hundreds of dollars worth of “correct” interior color in the cabinet that is only good for slopping on to the old farm equipment out behind the barn.
Woody, I actually prefer most of the time to stand across the counter from the guy that is going to mix the paint. And I also like to stick with the PPG brands of paint which is, as you know, a well-established system. PPG is doing away with a lot of their lines though. The Platinum Dealer that I use here in Aurora, IL told me yesterday that the only thing that they are carrying now is DBU and Omni. The Deltron Delstar is a thing of the past here and I don’t think they are even mixing Concept anymore. I need to look into TCP Global because they seem to still have these systems available. But as you point out, they are mail order.
