We used to build up 4-bolt 327's by putting the 3 1/4" stroke late model 327 crankshaft in a 350 block. With the right crankshaft and rods, the cubic inches came out right for the stock-class rules at a particular round track where we ran. The main advantage over the guys who ran the "cheater" 350's was a little more RPM capability with the shorter stroke. The hot setup at that track was the 302, however, at about 8,000 RPM on the high side of the track. Get it wound up, and more or less flatfoot the throttle all the way around!
