the cat whiskers are meant to stop wind noise and rattle, the water seal on the outside is the
rubber lower sash piece, the "lip" is to the outside and when the window is rolled up it pushes against the bottom of the whisker .... the windows are never 100% waterproof, that's why there's drains in the bottom of the doors - these ain't grand pianos after all
