My 63 C10 already had a 350 in it when I got it, but it was torn down. When I put a new motor in it the distributor was very close, to the firewall. It has an HEI in it and the #5 or #6 plug wire boot touches the firewall. Dont remember which one it is been deployed for a while. I use it as a daily driver and have had no issues with it, once I get to that part of the restoration I will address the issue. Im sure if you run points or external coil there is plenty of clearance. You wont regret putting a 350 in it. I have alot of fun with my V8. Also make sure if you go HEI that your engine mounts are very good, dont want anyone to loose a distributor over a bad engine mount.
