If you are not familiar with it press down on the coller with pliers & turn it about 15-20 degrees counterclockwise. All the openings in the rails should be lined up. If not take big screw driver & line them up. It should be in neatral. Jack up a rear wheel & it should turn. Put the lever back in & try it. If it doesn't work right pull the top off & make sure the forks & reverse lug are going into the grooves. If it still doesn't work put the cover in a vise or clamp it down upside down. Work the rails. They should have a good snap to them. Only one rail at a time can be out of neatral position. If thats ok you have something wrong in the trans. They say money can't buy happiness.
