My '41 3/4 ton Chevy has been running 7.00 x 15 tires since I got it in 1972. That was what was on it then except for the wide whitewall spare! I think they look fine. Someone told me there is a new 15 inch designation using letters instead of numbers that is the same basic size. It is interesting that in all of the original specs, the recommended tire for each wheel size is given except for the 15 inch which is left blank.
