Since you're going to use an overdrive trans, I would suggest sticking with the stock rearend and adding an aftermarket disk brake conversion. That would be the easiest way to go. There are kits available, and if you want to convert to 5 lug, that's easy, too. Just swap to '71-'87 axle shafts, which are a bolt in after being shortened to the earlier axle length and regrooved for the C lock.
