When I check at the altertator im getting 6-8 volts which is the same as I was getting on the old one. Thats why I thought it was bad. when I get the engine up about 2000rpms the generator light goes off but as high as I could get the wife to rev it while I was checking at the battery I still only got 12v. Its kind of hard to get a good conection checking in the altertator plug and when I took the plug off and checked on the prongs I got nothing. Im assuming thats because it wasn't drawing any power. Do I have a wiring problem or a is my regulator bad? as I said before the wiring to the alternator is a rats nest. If I get a new engine harness can I get one for a 62 or 63 so it is set up for the alternator already? the truck is a 61 283 | | |
