| | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,028 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,028 | I brought my 53 back from its summer of parades and car shows in Maine. 105 miles and it did really well.
When I parked it I noticed a little oil on the ground. When I looked underneath there was some oil dripping off the tranny.
No oil on the engine and the oil level is down about a 1/2 quart from when we started. After 105 mile I thought that was ok.
The oil on the tranny seemed to be coming from multiple places with the bulk coming off the clutch cover. This is a very small amount maybe a table spoon or 2.
Is this to be expected after a long run (2+ hours)on a truck this age?
I replaced all the external cover gaskets on the engine when I was restoring the truck. I did not replace the tranny gaskets as these did not seem to be as simple.
Is there a seal that I should check on the front of the tranny.
