The bulb and fitting is bronze and self-crushes to fit.
You can screw a 216 style temp sender into a 235 head with a 1/2 NPT to 3/8 female gas flare adaptor- the early sender uses a gas flare taper and threads, not pipe threads. The 235 sender uses 1/2" pipe threads.
