#67565 10/24/2006 6:57 AM | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | What carburator are you trying to use? 261's came with a 1bbl Rochester originally. The carburator may not have the right idle circuit for the 261.
Also make sure you are getting ported vacuum for the vacuum advance. If you have full spark advance at idle you will not be able to dial it in right.
