I did it back in the 70's. Put 53 drums on all my PUs 55 thru 57. Just need to use the pickup inner bearing and race because the car spindle is different on the inside. Also you need to loose the dust shield. It worked back then even when stupid enough to run them over 100 mph. I made it through those years thank goodness.
