I took mine apart, not the levers, they are pressed on, and cleaned out the bit of sludge with solvent. Blew them out with air. Shake the arms side to side to see how the bearings are. Two of mine had a little bit of shake, but when they are in the installed position, they don't leak and seem to work fine. The '41 book says to always install a new lead washer, couldn't find them so just tightened them up, no leaks. See my post on the link pins and bushings though.
