I have been working hard to get my 1950, 3800 series pickup with a 1966 250 engine running. I was well on my way to success when a neighbor with good intentions and lot's of supposed experience with Rochester monojet carbs said he could fix mine right up. I bought him a kit for it and delivered it. He gave it back to me and I put it in and it started right up. It was running funny so I looked at the engine thinking I would have to make some adjustments. Gas was pumping out everywhere. To shorten the story a bit, He managed to totally strip all the threads on the fuel inlet housing at the fuel filter. He also managed to unplug some hole in the carb top. I don't know what the hole was for but it never leaked prior to his rebuilding the carb. What is a good source for another Rochester monojet?
