I was replacing a few parts this weekend on my 1953 3100 w/ orig 216 and ran into a problem. Previous owner had a 5/8 pully on the water pump. It needed a water pump anyway, so I ordered the correct water pump and 3/8 belt. Everything went on perfectly. Then, I went to mount the fan and noticed that it was pressed on the old pully.
To my understanding, there is only 1 size fan that was made for our trucks.
Maybe I need to remove the fan from this pulley and mount it directly to the newly installed water pump...??
