The original has built in resistance the new ones don't when I put the new one on I checked it. There are cable sets that you can pull out and turn and it will stay' they're built for industry But they don't look the same ,I thought about putting a little bend on the shaft of the new one so it would hold when You pulled it out but then I tryed to think when I would use it and I never would so it's there now for looks .
The return spring on the throttle is an important safty feature.
McMaster Carr part #6161K11 is a locking type
