Back when we actually serviced cars at a "service station" (1960's) we kept a squirt can of 30 weight oil for the oil cups on generators. All part of an oil change/lube job. We also oiled hood hinges, lubed door latches with a wax/grease mixture, and packed spring leaves if the owner requested it. 50 cents extra on a $2.00 lube job for the spring leaf grease!
