My '40 has no such " catches ". Only thing holding windshield is the ( 2) top hinges, and the centre crank at the bottom. I wonder if someone has added these on to keep the windshield tight when closed ?. I have seen some '46's with a cam type lock on the inside face of the A pillar to " suck down " the windshield tightly when closed. Can you post a pic somewhere ?
My "46" but with a '41 cab has nothing other than the 2 top hinges and the windshield regulator (that I added, it didn't have one at all when I bought it). It leaks air like crazy but I just figure that comes along with the charm of having an open-able windshield. I am not a fan of replacing with a one piece/non opening modern windshield.
