Sounds like that NY engineering school has a few too many blue state profs with weird ideas that are causing your brain to go into a "what if" do loop.
Down here in Texas our engineers learn to address real everyday problems such as how to clone a cow (well you get the male cow and female cow together see...) or how to genetically engineer new corn strains (sounds yummy).
