Howdy. This is my first foray into Stovebolts. I have a '50 Buick Special and a '79 Malibu drag car. I've owned many 60's musclecars, but I am now getting into classic iron.
Anyhoo, I will be picking up this '49 4100 in the next few weeks. It has a good running, full oil 235. I will be going a different rout than most. It will be a cruiser - slammed and wide. I will be swapping out the rear and front axle for later model 1-ton stuff. I did the research and know that any new front end will need to be narrowed. I have a '67 Camaro subframe that I may swap. I dunno yet. The wider late model dually rears are wider, but that don;t bother me. I want the rear track wider than the front. I'll be fabricating rear flares to cover the duals - nice 'n tight.
I was told that the '49 has a two speed rear. If anyone needs the rear or front axle, let me know. If not, it's going to the scrapper.
