If you don't know the age of your rubber lines it is probably a good idea to replace them.
I would resist having the drums turned. most of the time people turn them with no real reason to. That just makes them wear out sooner. However, if they have really bad groves in them, or are not round any more you should turn them, just don't do it for the fun of it, save your money if they are still good.
