I am still debaiting attachment of the outer cowl panel. Did you drill holes in the panel then tack it on with your welder?
Because I had to bend the flange on my outer panels to it even with the contour of the door I skip-welded the edge of the flange to the pillars.
If your flange is flush against the pillar, drill holes and weld through them.
