Don't think the mesh is glass, not sure, it doesn't use a resin in the traditional way, a por15 coating is used. Works great the two times I used it, no problems and covers pin holes without having to clean them up to mig or drop the gas tank to avoid a spark. I think you will like the trunk kit. Guys, I'm not saying to throw fiberglass over rust, it will reappear. The por stuff encapsulates the rust.
