I have a 66 C20, 350 with original 4 speed manual tranny. My ball joints are COMPLETELY shot, so the time has come to replace them. I already have them on my work bench, just getting ready mentally and trying to find a Saturday to do it.
I have done this job before, but it was long ago, almost 20 years.
My question is, any tricks or tips? It looks pretty straight forward. I am just going to replace upper and lower ball joints, maybe outer tie rod ends while I am in there. Am I missing anything?
Is it worth renting a spring compressor, or just use a floor jack and cross my fingers?
I appreciate any advice, tips, etc., you have to offer. I need to pull this job off in one day, and have the truck back on the road.

p.s. If anyone knows of a link that has pictures and detailed step by step instructions on ball joint replacement for a truck of this generation, that would be fantastic!
