What do you want to know about covering the seats yourself?

Have you ever covered seats yourself?

Do you have access to coir-like matting?

The JC covers should fit fine but your will need other items (like the items in JC's installation kit PLUS coir-like matting).

Denny Graham has posted a photolog of installing upholstery sets (maybe even from JC).

You could use hog rings or your could use the original-style u-clips (Jim Carter also sells the original-style u-clips).

I covered my 1954 Suburbans seats myself (JC's upholstery & installation kits & u-clips). I did not know about the necessity of the coir-like matting. I will be looking for a professional installer on the two 54/55 restorations that I am now working on (but, I would use JC upholstery if it was correct for 54-55 - it is not correct).
