TxLa has it right. Pull it straight out, and it will come out half an inch. Then, you pull the bottom of the cluster aka "the point" and pull that up. Kinda weird how it works, but thats how it worked for me. And a cluster that has been in there for long time takes a little more force.
And as mention,just unscrew the odometer from the cluster.
