Yeah, haven't found a solid number yet. There was discussion about this number on another site, and how it is impossible to prove, as there are no GM documents that have surfaced to date to back up that number. It was stated GM destroyed a lot of their documents when they were being sued for the gas tanks that could explode in the side impacts, however this statement is in dispute as well.
