I made ramps out of 3/4" plywood and yes they do scoot. I lay down a couple of 8 ft, 2x4's between the ramps and the rear wall foundation curb. There are several braces and cross braces, cleated, glued and screwed together on the inside.
I made them originally for the Vette because the ones that were available were either super long or if shorter and stepped, the lower part of the ramp was not removable.

two piece stepped ramps I have had a number of different car weights on them including the Dodge magnum RT with HEMI. 4200 lbs. My 3/4 GMC sits high enough that it was only on the top of the ramp to test them. I often just use the lower part of the ramp by itself for many tasks on a variety of cars.
The steel rod laying on the ground, slides through a hole and locks the two sections together.
