So the single barrel carb on my 235 is acting up. When I step on the gas pedal there's a noticeable chirp from under the hood. Drove fine at first but then coughed and wheezed and choked up on me. I finally limped the truck home in 1st gear not wanting to touch the pedal because that would cause it to open up the butterfly and stall out.

The idle never really wanted to come up much until it started to squirt gas out of the tube in the throat. Was also leaking out around the throttle pivot. Still died out when I hit the gas though.

I'm thinking that the float is sticking and maybe the timing is off. I do see the dist. turn slightly as rpm increases. Also, I cleaned a good amount of particles out of the fuel pump. Looked like rust from the tank. If these were sucked into the carb. what is the right way to clean it?
