I just installed a TS6469 (62-88 ohms at 212) in my '56,
the temp gauge still pegs hot to early,the correct sender (92-111 ohms) listed in the Echlin book is no longer available.
here is what I plan to do,
Take my old headlight switch and read the ohms at the lowest setting on the rheostat for the panel lights. wire the panel light connections in line with the gauge wire,
put a thermometer in the radiator
start the truck and let it warm up
when the thermometer reads 180 or so turn the rheostat until the gauge reads just above half
turn off the truck and read the resistance at the rheostat
the difference would be the resistor I will install.
