Hy Village Idiot, welcome, the only automatic that will swap in and have little or no issues is an original Hydramatic. There are companies the make adapters to install the more modern automatics behind the 216/235/261 Chev 6 cylinder engines, but there is also the matter of the rear support for the engine, I think one of the companies is Buffalo Enterprises, hope that helps.
