I would suggest one of the vintage Sun tachs. The early
model with the bakelite bezel would look most appropriate for a vehicle of that era. Two parts are necessary: the head and the transmitter unit. The transmitter was different for 6 and 8 cylinder engines and for 6 and 12 volts. It also used an odd mercury battery but I believe modern conversions are available.
