The crankshaft has a radius in one corner of each rod bearing.

I dont understand what a radius is. i pulled a cap and mic checked it against the old ones, not even 0.001' difference. and i did look at the piston ring end clearance- i did not check it with a mic, but with them compleatly compressed around the piston there is still a gap. the cylinders were well worn; thats why i went with bigger piston rings. so if the valve reliefs are supposed to be twards the intake manifold, then i have all of them in backwards. . . .damnit!
