I buy Bill's theory. Once the people-carrier was no longer needed, and the truck became a panel, the seats were forgotten. Eventually those seats were gotten rid of (from taking up space in the garage or yard).
The third seat is the hardest to find because it came out first when the suburban became a semi-panel.
