I have a new heat riser spring for my 228. It's installed according to the service manual. It's got a 1/3 of a turn on it, as per the manual. There's only one problem. It seems to me that it's holding the flapper in the "hot" position while it's cold. Meaning that the weight is flopped toward the driver's side. I thought that was the warmed up position. And that the "vertical" position was the "closed" or "cold position". The spring is from Bowtie bits and it looks identical to the one shown in the shop manual. Just tell me I'm wrong and that everything's right. What? grin
