I recently replaced my stock tranny with a T5. When I did that I got rid of the 2 piece drive shaft and just put in a longer, single one. I haven't noticed any problems-you just need to make sure the longer shaft is a bit thicker than the old ones to compensate for the length. Fewer parts= fewer problems.
