Hello all. I'm Cole and I'm new to the forum. I am in the process of taking possession of a family heirloom... a 1959 Apache Fleetside longbed. This one has been in the family since day one. Bought brand new by my great grandfather, it was later passed down to my uncle, then passed up to my grandfather, and now down to me. My uncle mostly restored her in the early 90s, making only a few modifications (moving the stickshift from the steering colomn to the floor, and chroming the bumpers). In the last few years she has been a bit neglected, but supposedly she just needs new tires, bedwood, and maybe a paint job.
I haven't seen her myself in years, so I can't vouch for any of this. I'm picking her up this Friday and driving her from Bend, OR to Folsom, CA. I've been reassured that she's in good condition mechanically and will easily make the trip.
